Glaucoma management requires ongoing monitoring and treatment to prevent vision loss from optic nerve damage. We provide both glaucoma screenings for early detection and long-term co-management of patients with established glaucoma using the latest diagnostic technology.
Annual glaucoma screening for all adults over 40. More frequent monitoring for: those with elevated eye pressure (ocular hypertension), family history of glaucoma, African American or Hispanic heritage, high myopia, thin central corneas, previous eye injury, and diagnosed glaucoma patients.
Glaucoma evaluation includes: intraocular pressure measurement (tonometry), gonioscopy (examination of the drainage angle), central corneal thickness (pachymetry), visual field testing (to detect peripheral vision changes), optic nerve imaging (OCT — detects structural changes often before vision loss), and optic nerve photography for longitudinal comparison.
Our diagnostic suite includes Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer and Heidelberg Spectralis OCT for precise nerve fiber layer analysis. We detect glaucoma changes at the earliest possible stage, giving patients the best chance to preserve vision throughout their lives.
